About Maidstone Greek School IN KENT
Who We Are
The Greek School of Maidstone was founded in 1989 by the Greek & Cypriot community of Maidstone, when a group of families shared a common wish, to ensure their children remained connected to the Greek language, culture, traditions, and faith while growing up away from Greece and Cyprus. What began as small and community-led lessons grew through dedication and cooperation into a school rooted in identity, heritage, and belonging.
Our Mission Today and Looking Ahead
As the community grew, so did the school. Lessons became more structured, more qualified teachers joined, and the school developed into a cultural hub where children of all ages learned the Greek language, history, religion, and traditions, while celebrating national and religious events in close connection with the Church.
Today, the Greek School of Maidstone continues its mission with pride — nurturing bilingualism, cultural identity, and a strong sense of belonging, while welcoming anyone who wishes to learn Greek. What started as a shared dream remains a living legacy, connecting generations and keeping Greek language and culture alive for the future.
